Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Developer to join our fintech engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to building and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance applications while collaborating with senior engineers, product teams, QA, and DevOps. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, test, and maintain backend services and applications. • Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and reusable code following software development best practices. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Quality Assurance, and DevOps. • Assist with designing and implementing scalable system components. • Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives. • Troubleshoot and debug technical issues. • Monitor and optimize application performance. • Support deployment activities and help ensure smooth release cycles. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS • Backend development experience using Python. • Knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database fundamentals, SQL queries, and basic query optimization. • Familiarity with Linux environments, preferably Debian-based distributions. • Experience working with open-source technologies and ecosystems. • Familiarity with software development processes, practices, and workflows. • Working knowledge of core banking and payment systems. ADDED ADVANTAGE • Previous exposure to fintech, banking, financial services, or payment systems.
