Senior Software Engineer Fully remote, Africa | 1000 - 1800 USD per month About the Role We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and scale high-quality software products. You will work on complex technical challenges, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver reliable solutions used by our customers. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving difficult problems, writing clean and maintainable code, mentoring teammates, and taking ownership of projects from concept to production. You will be expected to contribute across multiple projects and the compensation will scale based on the number of projects handled. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications Own major features and technical initiatives from planning through deployment Make architectural decisions and contribute to system design discussions Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following engineering best practices Improve application performance, reliability, and security Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product solutions Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and technical guidance Identify opportunities to improve development processes, tooling, and infrastructure Debug complex technical issues across the stack Participate in technical planning, documentation, and engineering discussions Requirements 5+ years of professional software engineering experience Native level proficiency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong experience building and maintaining production-grade applications Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering principles Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, Go, C#, or similar Experience with databases, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Ability to write high-quality, well-tested code Experience working in Agile or fast-paced development environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to independently own projects and deliver results Technology Stack You need to be a jack-of-all-trade style engineer across frontend, backend, database, cloud and infrastructure.
