WunderGraph is a fast-growing startup, our goal is to bring everybody together to build digital products end-to-end. From interface design to API implementation, we provide the platform to go from sketch to product in a category-defining collaborative experience. Our North Star is to take the friction out of bringing digital ideas to life, making room for your ideas and productivity.
Developers from some of the biggest companies in the world are using WunderGraph to design and streamline their API environments. We raised our Series A ($7.5 million USD) in March 2025, being backed by eBay, Karma Ventures, and Aspenwood Ventures.
The culture we are creating together is extremely important to us. Read here how we are Building the Company We Always Wanted to Work In.
We invite everyone that wants to join us to understand our Core Beliefs and if you want to make an impact, have your voice heard, and work in a no-BS organization where you can get stuff done, look no further and apply today so we can chat.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Product Designer at WunderGraph, you are the connection between what our users will find most helpful and what our engineers build. Considering the users also happen to be other developers, this becomes an interesting challenge to think about the Developer Experience as the User Experience. You combine sharp user insight, craft, and pragmatism to deliver experiences that are elegant, usable, and built to scale.
This is a wide-reaching role, as design roles at a startup should be. One week you might be running user interviews to shape a new feature; the next, refining our design system or designing a marketing landing page. You ground your work in evidence rather than assumption, partner closely with product and engineering, and turn what you learn about users into a clear, informed UX strategy that guides where we go next.
TEAM INTEGRATION
• Reports to the VP of Product; is part of the Product team
• Aligns closely with the CEO (Product) and Head of Customer Success (customer experience and business impact)
• Collaborate within the Product team with the Delivery Lead and the Design Engineer
• Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, product, and customer success
ROLE OBJECTIVES
You are successful if you:
• Take ownership of the complete design lifecycle, bridging the gap between initial discovery and final delivery for web and product interfaces.
• Cultivate an evidence-based UX strategy that leverages user research and data to steer the product's evolution.
• Oversee the growth of a unified and extensible design system that spans both our product and marketing efforts.
• Convert user insights and organizational objectives into pragmatic, human-centric solutions engineered for long-term scalability.
• Advocate for excellence in accessibility, responsiveness, and performance as fundamental pillars of your craft.
• Provide mentorship to the team, sharing expertise in research methodologies and design principles.
• Refine the visual and functional identity of WunderGraph through meticulous and high-impact design work.
• Impact high-level product strategy by demonstrating how user-focused decisions drive tangible business impact.
ROLE TASKS
The role focuses on, but is not limited to:
Product Design
• Design and prototype user flows, interfaces, and interactions with scalability in mind.
• Own design problems end to end. From initial concept through execution and iteration after launch.
• Rapidly produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, exploring multiple concepts and iterating quickly.
• Define and evolve our design system and component library, keeping it consistent and maintainable.
• Partner closely with engineers on feasibility, quality, and handoff, contributing to technical decisions (and coding where you're comfortable and it helps as a plus, not a requirement).
• Introduce advanced prototyping, interaction design, and motion practices.
UX Research & Strategy
• Plan and conduct user research across discovery and validation via user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and competitor analysis.
• Turn ambiguous product questions into decision-grade research that maps to real product and design decisions.
• Synthesize findings into clear insights, personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas that the team can act on.
• Build and maintain a shared insight repository so learning is reusable, searchable, and available to everyone.
• Translate research into an informed, evolving UX strategy that guides the roadmap and anchors design direction in real user needs.
• Advocate for the user in prioritization and roadmap discussions, and define what "better" looks like through clear UX success metrics.
• Run discovery workshops and share insights so research shows up where decisions are made like in design reviews, product planning, and standups embedding user knowledge from the get-go.
