Senior Cloud Data Infrastructure Engineer

The Cloud Scaling team is dedicated to implementing robust capabilities within the ClickHouse Cloud environment. We are looking for exceptional software engineers to develop and maintain the infrastructure needed to transform ClickHouse into a fully functional serverless database solution. The team collaborates closely with the core database team to evolve ClickHouse into a cloud-native database system. We also work with other cloud teams to continuously improve cloud infrastructure, performance, reliability, and scalability. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Build a cutting-edge, cloud-native database platform using public cloud infrastructure. • Work on ClickHouse’s in-house Kubernetes operator to support seamless infrastructure management. • Improve the metrics pipeline and build systems that generate better statistics and recommendations. • Collaborate closely with the ClickHouse core development team and other data-plane teams to support infrastructure use cases and internal infrastructure improvements. • Architect and build robust, scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed infrastructure. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS • At least 5 years of relevant software development experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. • Production experience with programming languages such as Go, C++, or Java. • Experience participating in PagerDuty or similar on-call rotations and debugging issues in production environments. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Expertise with at least one public cloud provider, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure. • Experience working with Infrastructure as a Service offerings, such as Amazon EC2. • Experience with data storage, ingestion, and transformation technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or similar tools. • Experience designing, building, or maintaining distributed systems. • A strong interest in solving large-scale data and infrastructure problems. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within and across engineering teams.
